We can confirm we are able to open the Park at 9am on Thursday 24th December (Christmas Eve), however we must close at 4pm on Saturday 26th December (Boxing Day).
We strongly advise anyone planning on coming to the Beachcombe to think very carefully before making the journey about whether it is strictly necessary for you to come to the Park.
We summarise some of the law and guidance below, but this is no substitute to your reviewing the relevant guidance and taking responsibility for your actions.
As you know, the Beachcomber is in Tier 3.
In Tier 4, the law requires, ‘If you live in a Tier 4 area, you must not leave your home unless you have a reasonable excuse’.
The advice to people in Tiers 1, 2 and 3 is ‘You should stay local and avoid travelling outside of your local area, meaning your village or town, or part of a city, where possible’. So, Government is advising against leisure and holiday travel in Tiers 1, 2 and 3.
Christmas rules outside Tier 4
A Christmas bubble cannot include anyone from a Tier 4 area.
The Christmas bubble relaxations (up to three households) will only apply on Christmas Day. The guidance confirms for people in Tiers 1, 2 and 3:
‘Outside a Tier 4 area, you can stay in private rented accommodation, a hotel, hostel or B&B in England over Christmas, in line with the social gathering rules in your tier. This includes in a tier 3: Very High alert area between 24 and 26 December, as long as you are staying by yourself, or with other members of your household and it is necessary for the purposes of seeing your Christmas bubble on Christmas Day. If necessary, you can stay in private rented accommodation with members of your household, or your Christmas bubble.’
So, holiday parks and campsites in Tier 3 may reopen for customers from Tiers 1, 2 and 3 for the nights of 24th and 25th December, closing again on 26th December.
Review of the tiered system
The next review of the Tiered system will take place on 30th December. It could be the case that we remain in tier 3 or even move into Tier 4, therefore this may be the final opportunity for you to visit the caravan to collect personal possessions for the foreseeable future.
Buckets to stay closed
Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to open Buckets for the Christmas window.
Practical advice and useful information
Our staff will not be at work on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. It is therefore essential, should you require any gas bottles, that you order and pay for them before 3pm on Christmas Eve in order for us to deliver it to you in time for Christmas as there will be no deliveries on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Reception will be open 9-5 on Christmas Eve, but will be closed on Christmas Day & Boxing Day.
If you have any queries ahead of the Christmas opening window, our phone lines are open now between 9-5 until Christmas Eve.
The Sales Office will remain closed until at least 2nd January 2021.
All other facilities on the Park will be closed during the period 24th – 26th December.
Security will continue to operate 24/7 throughout the Christmas period.
Respect for the local community
Please can we ask that everyone shows consideration for the local community. Local relationships are important to us all and some may understandably be apprehensive about the impacts of returning visitors to the area, especially with the new strain of the virus in transmission in the UK, even for such a short period of time. Therefore, we have prepared the following to help you prepare for your brief return to the Park should you come:
- Ensure that you follow social distancing measures throughout the Park
- Social distancing must always be maintained from other holiday caravan owners
- Social distancing must always be maintained from any of our staff you may encounter and our security contractors
- You may wish to bring with you the following essential shopping items; soap, hand gel, gloves, toilet roll, disinfectant, hand sanitiser etc
- Bringing your own supplies of food and drink may reduce reliance and congestion in local shops (should they be open).
- Observe all other guidance applicable to Tier 3.
Please keep any vehicles off the grass at all times. You will become stuck as the grass is extremely wet following weeks of rain and there will be no help available to assist you in recovering the vehicle and you may face being fined by the Park for the future repairs needed to put the ground back to its normal condition.
Please do not travel to the Park before 9am on 24th December, as you will not be allowed onto the Park.
The Park will close again at 4pm on 26th December.
With every Christmas wish and a Happy New Year – let us hope 2021 is better for us all.
